MicroMatrix® products are micro particles, which allow entrapment of selected ingredients keeping them stable and inert. Not only, do they carry actives, but through surface modifications, they are also able to vectorise them in desired skin or hair areas.

MicroMatrix® are produced by Creations Couleurs®, which owns and develops patents for new formulation types, and when necessary for customer needs.

MMX products are new micro particles, developed originally for drug delivery systems. Their innovation comes from the use of a manufacturing process, which results to products with many interesting features:

• Spherical particles
• Particle sizes ranging from 50 microns to 5 mm
• An internal structure made of a polysaccharide matrix, which permits entrapment inside micro- or nano-domains of various active ingredients
• With controlling the cross-linking rate of the polymers, the softness or hardness of beads can be modified
• Density can be modified from floating to sinking in a liquid media

MicroMatrix® technology provides a novel and unique way to deliver skin care actives and fragrances. The technology offers products with multi sensorial experience never known before. It involves soft and fresh touch without tackiness. The skin senses immediately a cooling sensation upon application, remaining silky for several hours due to the microfilm lay-out.

When compared MMX technology to classic emulsions, the main difference is, that normal emulsions penetrate immediately into the skin allowing only a short period of time to influence the skin, while MMX products create an invisible film on the skin, allowing long term cure based on slow release.
